Diagnosing a patient with internal disease is like a puzzle for me. There are many small pieces: information from history, physical and various examination findings that all make together the whole picture. There are always less important details (negative results excluding some diseases)  and there will be results which are the key to big picture. My art is my patience to put all the small pieces together. 

Blood donation for animal blood bank

In certain diseases our pet may also require blood transfusion to keep them alive or stabilize their condition until we can treat the underlying disease. 
It is safer to use blood preparations from such donor animals which are already screened for various infectious diseases. 


During the screening of the donor animals we make a thorough physical examination, and we collect a small blood sample. The blood will be examined for blood count, organ function tests and various infectious diseases (which can be spread via blood transfusion). We also check the blood group of the donor.

Vaccination

Infectious diseases are easier to prevent than to treat.... But how often should we vaccinate our pet? 

Well, vaccination against some diseases, like rabies are regulated by the low, so in Hungary rabies vaccination for dogs is compulsory once a year. What about the other vaccines? In our praxis we recommend an individualized vaccination plan for your pet based on the World Small Animal Veterinary Association Vaccination Guidelines. If you are uncertain to vaccinate or not, we can measure antibodies from the blood to see whether your pet is protected or not.
